Counseling Overview

Professional counselors will provide counseling to you and your dependents regarding a wide variety of issues of concern. Counseling sessions are available to individuals, couples, and families.

The EAP Counselor will conduct an initial assessment with you. This process takes approximately one hour and can be done face to face or via teletherapy. Once your assessment is complete, the counselor will either begin counseling services with you or may refer you to a different service provider if the issues you present need a different type of service. EAP services are typically for brief counseling needs, not long-term treatment. If a referral is recommended, the EAP Counselor will assist you in identifying the most appropriate resource(s). We will work to identify services that are either covered by your healthcare plan or are affordable to you.

Teletherapy And Face-To-Face Counseling

We offer teletherapy and face-to-face counseling for a range of common short-term counseling needs including family issues, marital problems, depression, anxiety, stress, grief, child and adolescents problem, and drug/alcohol abuse.

For work-related issues, we offer counseling for job performance problems, attendance issues, and interpersonal problems you may be experiencing with co-workers or supervisors.

During the appointment, a mental health professional will speak with you about a wide variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, marital discord, burnout, stress level, and job satisfaction. Even if you do not feel distressed, you can use your Couch Time Check-in as a preventive measure. This service is a part of the yearly number of EAP counseling visits allotted to you and your family members.

With a personalized approach to applying mindful practices to life, Aware teaches participants how to be engaged, diminish distractions, and counteract stress. The program cultivates focused and resilient employees, who are more engaged and productive in the workplace.

Computerized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (cCBT)

In My Hands is our case manager-assisted self-help program that addresses mild to moderate anxiety, stress, and depression. The online program educates users and suggests techniques and tasks designed to guide participant progress for positive therapeutic outcomes. Several modules are available, including Introduction to CBT; Self-Esteem and Thinking Styles; Low Mood and Depression; Stress and Anxiety; and Coping and Resilience.

The self-paced program encourages participants to interact with the application weekly and to monitor their own perception of how they are functioning in terms of personal wellbeing, close family relationships, work, and social roles. The course is comprised of seven online CBT sessions and includes email and/or telephone support from qualified counselors.

Participants who engage in cCBT have unlimited access to the program for six months and may complete the sessions as many times as desired within that period. A cCBT case manager follows up with participants to ensure the program is addressing their needs, answer any queries, and review progress toward their goal. Users can also contact a case manager at any time to discuss their progress.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

finacial_services_icon

Employees requiring financial services begin by completing a telephonic intake with a financial consultant and presenting his or her issue(s).

In many cases, the consultant can provide issue resolution assistance on the spot. If, after speaking with a financial consultant, issue resolution requires additional preparation, planning, or more specialized financial assistance, the financial consultant offers an appointment with one of our qualified financial counselors for a detailed telephonic consultation.

The service covers topics such as money management/budgeting, debt, credit, home purchase, student loan counseling, and bankruptcy and foreclosure prevention. The financial specialists are also qualified to provide information and educational tips on preventing ID theft and/or how to proceed when ID theft is suspected.

Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD)

A critical incident is any unexpected event that produces intense emotional reactions that could interfere with work performance, such as the sudden death of an employee, shooting, accidents, robberies, or natural disasters.

When a critical or traumatic event occurs, Neely EAP will provide on-site or virtual support within 24 hours to the employee(s) who are affected (directly or indirectly) by the event.
